It’s brilliant marketing, isn’t it? You can’t just go and sign up for Gmail. No, it’s much more exclusive than that. You need to be lucky and win the lottery when you go to google. Or, you can get invited by one of the lucky ones.
I bet they have ten times as many users as they would have gotten by simply giving away the service for free.
