Plans for the day include taking a test in my night class, and most likely listening to my mother ask me when I plan on getting married and having children. Try not to be jealous.
Interesting bit of trivia, my every eleventh birthday falls on Easter Sunday. I was born on Easter, my 11th b-day was Easter, 22nd was Easter. And I haven’t looked but I’d bet big money that next year Easter falls on April 11th.
Ok, so it’s only interesting to me.
So…who’s up for some birthday spankings??? Anyone? No? Fine, I’ll pull up my pants and sulk over here in the corner.
It’s interesting to me too, Max Carnage. Another 11th baby and I think Chrome Toaster is as well. (And next year is when Easter falls on the 11th.)
This year, I’ll be 47. It’s a nice number, a periwinkle number. I think of it as roughly marking my halfway point, if I’m lucky. I think I may actually celebrate this year.
Happy Birthday to you all and thank you, Flamsterette_X!
Mines on the 8th. I’ll be an ancient Quarter of a F***ing century.
I’ll be getting up at 8AM going to work at 9AM coming home from work at 9PM. Then the fun really begins. At 10PM ill watch Samari Jack. At 11PM I’ll watch Futurama. At 12:00 I’ll watch Trigun. At 12:30 Ill watch Inuashu (or whatever). at 1:00 I’ll watch Cowbow Bepop. I’ll kill time till 2:00 and turn on the SciFi channel then smack myself in the head because I forgot that the scifi channel replaced Lexx with The X-Files. Then I’ll go to sleep.
I am sooo depressed. My birthdays are always bad.
Today! is my birthday. I worked all day, got lovely gifts and cakes from my office mates. Came home to my cat’s gift – a giant hairball. In 10 minutes I’m out the door, chocolate cake in one hand, bottle of Conmemorativo in the other.
To all my fellow April birthday Dopers: Happy Birthday!
I’ll be turning 24 on the 10th. April 10th is such a beautiful day. It’s the 100th day of a non-leap year. It was the day that li’l Superman was found by the Kents if I’m remembering the 1950s TV series Superman (starring George Reeves) correctly. A girl who tormented me all through junior high school and the cool younger brother of one of my high school friends also share the birthday with me. On top of that, April 10, 1979, was the date that a tornado ravaged Witchita Falls. My mother made certain to note that event in my baby book.
As far as I know, there are no birthday plans. If my coworkers remember, we’ll either all go to lunch together or they throw the traditional twenty minute office birthday party that afternoon. When I get home, it’ll be another frantic evening of sifting through apartment listings. On the other hand, my roommate and I are throwing a burrito party the following day. I need a good social activity.
A lot of my cow-orkers look at their birthdays like they were any other day, but buddy, not me! I loves me a good birthday! My friends and family lavish attention and cards on me, make good-natured jokes about my age (hey, I only get better with time, trust me), and we enjoy good food and laughter together.
As far as plans, I have April 18th through the 28th off from work. El hubbo and I are hoping to take at least one short trip during that time. I’ve been looking for nearby arboretums (sp?) and the like to go visit. (Arbor Day is right around my birthday, so there’s usually some sort of festivity going on at the arboretums)
Ordinarily I would be off out celebrating my birthday for ooooo about a week - it is amazing how you can drag it out!
But this year my birthday is Easter Sunday and as everything shuts down in Norway from Thursday AND I am on duty I am the operations contact for my department in Norway over Easter  and so can’t sneakily leave my mobile behind or drink in case I have to drive anywhere I will be erm doing nowt probably Last year I was offshore and the year before I was on a diving weekend in Australia which means I haven’t celebrated my actual birthday in three years.
So in theory although my birth certificate tells me I should be 26 I am in fact only 23
Roll on the weekend starting the 25th when I hand the mobile phone in
The big number 3 will be hitting my house on the 19th. I bought the Batman masks, plates, napkins, various sundry batman type items yesterday. Sure you old folks will have fun, but nuthin beats a toddler birthday.
