They are not in the DC beltway, but here in DC I’ve heard of it talked about as the battle of the beltways. They say the same things when they play during the regular season and when the Ravens and Skins play.
I’d love to see that as well, and even as an old O’s fan, I’m still pulling for the Nats.
Yeah, I lost touch for a few days, before the Chisox went into a tailspin.
I still say it’s mighty risky, at this point, to pick a team that’s not even a lock to make the playoffs. They CAN’T win either wild card spot… so it’s either win the division or go home. I’m not convinced yet they’ll win the division, let alone the pennant or World series.

Rangers beat the Reds in 5. I attend a World Series game for the first time in my life, wearing a Rangers t-shirt and Reds cap. I can be spotted in the stands at GABP as my boyhood hometown team finally gets the win.
Orioles over the Nationals in 7.

Nats over Orioles in the Beltway Series, after which Peter Angelos begs for forgiveness for trying to keep baseball out of DC then hurls himself into the shark tank at the B’more aquarium.

So far Washington, Cincinnati and San Francisco have cinched. Wild card still TBD.
American League.
Looks like Texas has the West, with the Ease and Central too close to really call. Wild Card TBD.
It looks like the winner of this thread was etv78, who was the only person to correctly pick Detroit vs. San Francisco (although he has the end result backwards
