Tina Fay's scar

Okay, Google is not very helpful on this, nor are the SDMB message archives. Do we know what her scar is from?

I’ve always wondered about her scar too. I think it’s from her going throug ha windshield or domestic violence by a former boyfriend with a broken bottle. These are just my speculations.

She got it in battle before her sex change … or is that TMI?

In a New Yorker profile of Tina Fey, she declined to talk about the origin of the scar, saying that her doing so in the past has upset her parents.

As far as I can find, all she has publicly said on the subject is that the scar is the result of a childhood injury.

It’s the incision the devil made to remove her soul in exchange for fame.

Huh. I guess that just about all but answers the question.

Nevertheless, I’ve never noticed a scar on SNL, and I’ve been browsing through Google Images and Wikipedia’s pictures of Ms. Fey and still don’t see it. Can someone enlighten me as to where this scar is?

google may have not been very helpful as to the origin of the scar, but i had to google to find out who tina fey was…

i guess i am a little out of touch on current celebrities

I always assumed it was a childhood injury or maybe a forceps scar, since she doesn’t talk about it because of her parents. None of my business, really.

BTW, Shoshana, her name is “Fey,” not “Fay.”

I’ve seen her on SNL and in Mean Girls and never noticed any scar. Is it on her face?

She’s a celebrity. Her favorite fucking position is our business. How many times she wipes after crapping is our business. That’s the price.

IIRC it is about a 3 inch scar that starts under the left side of her lip and continues back towards her ear. When she started it was very prominent. I think they got better at covering it up, but I still see it every once in a while.

Huh. I do see that now that I know where it is…and now I’ve lost interest. Oh well.

I would just like to say “Tina Fey’s Scar” would be a good band name.

In what? The scar or her?

It could just be that it’s such a lame injury that she doesn’t like to explain exactly how it happened.

I’ve got a long, fine scar across my left cheek that more than one woman has referred to as my “dueling scar.” I’ve never actually said anything to encourage that, but I’m also pretty evasive when people ask me about it.

I’d much rather leave it up to their imagination than admit that I received it from a tiny widdle white kitty when I was four years old. I just say, “I don’t remember where that one came from. I have so many.” Heh.

The scar.

I have a triple-blade shaving scar that I got in boot camp. Nobody’s asked, but if they do, I’ll cast a downward gaze, sadly mutter “I got it in the Air Force”, take a big “I’m OK” inhale and give them steely, but wobbling, eye contact, without providing any more information. I’m looking forward to it.

The quote I found was: “It’s a childhood injury that was kind of grim. And it kind of bums my parents out for me to talk about it.”

The New Yorker piece that Walloon mentioned ran in the Nov. 3, 2003 issue (I got the Complete New Yorker DVD-ROM set for Christmas). The story says only, “She has had the scar since childhood but she hates to discuss it.”
