Dang, this is the only message board I know of that has so much trouble maintaining posts. Sometimes the OP gets sucked into the void, sometimes a post gets put in 3 times. I thought smart people were supposed to run this thing.
Anyway, what I originally said was that this thread is for purposes of warning folks out there against making costly mistakes due to oversights.
In my case, I couldn’t start my truck the other day. Got a jump, got the starter tapped, and my lights, dash and radio all worked with no problem. Finally had to get it towed to a garage for them to look at.
Turns out I had pulled out the security key with my foot the last time I got out of the truck. So, if you’ve bought any new vehicle within the past several years, remember that it has a security key you can take out to prevent theft. If it’s like mine, it’s located under the dash above the accelerator pedal. Apparently I had lifted my foot too high and it pulled the key out enough to make the vehicle inoperable. Cost me $105 to discover that.
