My truck was stolen.

Went out to leave for work this morning and my truck was not where I had left it. It was a shiny red 93 Toyota extended cab, canopy, custom wheels, and sunroof. I miss my baby…:frowning:

Whoa that sucks. I hope they catch the bastard.

Offta. That Sucks. Toyotas are popular. I get paranoid whenever I go to a large city with my Jeep… they’re a thief favorite too.

Good luck.

Oh my God! That’s awful. I just bought a truck myself, so I understand being attached to it. I would flip out if someone took my baby. I hope they find it unhurt, and catch the person who stole it.

Yeah, me too.

I could get an alarm, but I can’t hear the blasted thing.

Handy, you just made me laugh. That was the funniest damn thing I’ve heard in a while.

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your truck, Racer. Do you have any ideas how the thief(ves) may have made off with it? I’m sure you have a lot more common sense than a friend of mine who had his truck stolen about ten years ago. I felt no sympathy for him, however. Why? HE LEFT THE DAMN KEY IN THE IGNITION!!! Sort of misses the whole point of having a key, otherwise, we’d just push a button to start our vehicles. As if this weren’t astounding enough, he still leaves his truck (a bigger, more expensive one now) vulnerable to theft by leaving his key right there in the ignition. Perhaps the only reason his truck hasn’t been stolen again is because it pisses off a thief by depriving him of the challenge. He did get his truck back, but I know the cops gave him a stern lecture about leaving his key in the ignition.

I’m sure your story doesn’t go like this. I hope you get it back. Please do keep us posted on any new developments.

On a semi-related note, there was a time when I had to move my car out to the street from the driveway because a friend (same friend as the one I described above) needed to pull his truck into the driveway to do some maintenance work at my place. When he left that night I didn’t move my car back in to the driveway. The next morning before going to work I looked out the window to check the weather and my car, of course, was not there. I was quite distraught for about ten seconds as I thought my car had been stolen. Just as I was about to call the police I remembered leaving it out on the street. A big “DUHH!!!” on my part.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I love those trucks. Esp. with a V6. I’ve heard of cars and trucks stolen while they were alarmed and while they had “the club” on.

You ought to move the guys truck every day, until he gets the picture.

I have a friend who moved to NYC (Brooklyn) in the late 80’s - He had everything he owned in the back of his pickup (early small dodge [d-50?] camper top, locked). Pulled up to his new place, locked the truck, walked upstairs to get his new roomies to help him unload, came downstairs three minutes later and the truck was GONE.

Welcome to the Big Apple!

I woke up from a nap once & it was missing. I thought for a few minutes & then remembered
that I left it in the store parking lot & walked home. lol, that was funny.
