Tips (please) on re-felting an 8’ table

(No factual answer so I put it here in IMHO)

In just a few hours I’ll be re-felting an eight foot table. One of the rails was sagging and the table is almost 30 years old so I had the local billiards supply shop redo the rails. While the rails were there I let them handle the re-felting of the rails so all I have to do is the bed and then re-assemble. If anyone has ever re-felted a table any tips are appreciated. The table is level and bed is in good shape.

So far my tools consist of :
Craft knife, small scissors, needle-nose pliers, large stapler, screwdriver, and hammer (the plastic part of the pocket is nailed into place - I thought that was weird). Anything I am missing?

Have you been to this site?

http://www.bestbilliard.com/resources/resources.htm

It’s their main resource page, from which there are a lot of informative pages (sometimes pretty poorly organized, sorry). There’s some there, or through their “catalog” link you can pay to access their detailed recovering instructions. This particular link from the first page is on how to stretch your cloth:

I have nothing of substance to add to this thread. I did, however, read the title as “tips on fellating an 8’ table.”

I took some photos of my project and put up a web page showing the process.

Re-felting an 8’ Table

Be advised there are lots of large images so the page may take a while to load.

Nothing says “I was built in the early 70’s” quite like, well, you’ll see…

… the carpet?
