Titanic crossing ties up bridge traffic - News at 11 - Very neat!

‘Titanic’ in Lake Pontchartrain slows Causeway bridge traffic to a crawl

Dick Move.

I can’t believe it stopped traffic.

Does seem a bit odd.

My car would have gone on.

I believe my horn would have gone off on it’s own accord.

I’m not sure where you’re more lacking - in imagination or humour

How is that boat powered? Does it have a gas-driven motor and a propeller, or a bunch of batteries driving a propeller, or does the guy inside it have to pedal it or something? I presume it doesn’t just drift around at random…

More than 1,500 dies when the real Titanic sank in the north Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912, after hitting an iceberg on its maiden voyage.

(heavy sigh) This person has and job writing.

The picture of the dude hanging out the side of his teeny-weeny Titanic is hilarious and adorable. Not traffic-stopping, though.

Oh look, a boat. On water. Yeah, there’s a reason to stop traffic.

Do you? Hope not.

What’s a dick move? I’d say the only dicks here are the drivers that stopped to rubber neck. They were the ones causing the traffic jam, not him.

Same goes for people that called the Coast Guard. Why?

Well, they’re dicks.

No, no I do not.

“Causeway General Manager Carlton Dufrechou… issu[ed] a warning to the ship.”

My question, in all seriousness: What did the guy do wrong that warranted a warning? Is boat traffic on the lake restricted? Or was it just because people stopped to gawk? And what legal authority does the Causeway General Manager have over what goes on in the water? The warning is what seems like the dick move to me. “I’m sorry, but your boat is far too interesting to be on this lake.”

From the link:

*Even though the replica’s appearance in the lake caused another traffic congestion headache Wednesday morning, Dufrechou managed to keep his sense of humor in issuing a warning to the ship.

We usually terminate our iceberg patrols on March 1,” he said.*

(Bolding mine)

Pretty sure it is not pedal driven. Lake Pontchartrain is huge. The Causeway is bridge about 24 miles long. That’s probably why the boat caused a traffic jam…there’s really not much else to look at when you drive across this long bridge, other than routine fishing boats.

Kinda makes it sound like the people down there live by this calendar:
