The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.
It is imperative that D’s focus on improving American lives and NOT Trump’s criminality. Yes, there are millions of Americans who’d like to see Trump punished – these will mostly vote Blue in 2028 no matter what. But there are scores of millions of Americans whose main concern is their economic hardships. These people – many who just voted blue for the first time in their lives – will revert to embracing the kakistocracy if they don’t see good action from the D’s.
Let’s encourage GOP Congresscritters to help shape legislation to end the foolish war, restore Medicaid and SNAP, et cetera. Some sentient Republicans will be so eager to reject obvious Evil, that some of Trump’s vetoes can be overridden.
