This all started when the pneumatic slider-thingie on my outer door busted. The device that holds it open. Well, I like my ventilation, so I propped the thing open with a plastic chair I found in the dumpster. So far, so good.
BUT…now I have to be careful coming and going through this door, prolly all the way through the summer, because a pair of Orange Tanagers have set up house on TOP of my door. That is to say, balanced on the top of the door itself. The eggs are already there, I await the chirping of little bald birds any day now.
I’m not offended, by any means. Critters always coming up to me. But what is it that I keep doing that gets animals wantin’ to be around me? I don’t feed 'em.
There’s a space without something already living in it near you. And you don’t kill or threaten the critters that share your area. Thus: “Oooh!! a spot to build a nest! And the big wingless thing didn’t kill us! This is AWESOME!”, says the little birdies.
RE: PICS I do not have a digital camera. There are a dozen frames left on a disposable 35mm, so I’ll use those and have them put on a disc at the developing place. Then I will discover if I’ve finally learned how to use Photobucket.
No pix right now; lighting has been nonexistent all day, and I don’t think my camera is going to give the best images on just a flash.
It’s neat! Every…hour or two, mommy and daddy trade off guarding the nest/going for food. All right next to my window.
