To my family:

I have a husband like this, only it’s anniversaries and Valentine’s day that does him in.

I’ve learned to get over it, he’s a good man, not terribly emotive, but a good man none the less. I’ve also learned not to bottle up or discount my own feelings.

If I were you, I’d be going to the nearest bakery and buying a cake. Have them write ‘Happy Birthday To Me’ on it and serve it up, with a big smile, after dinner this evening.

You get cake, the kids will drive the point home for hubby, when they ask, “Daddy where’s Mommy’s gift?”.

Smile, laugh, eat cake. You will surely be showered with love and affection from the kids, and hopefully hubby too. You’re sure to feel better.

And you get to eat cake!

A big Happy Birthday from me!

Happy birthday, Silver1.

Haaaaaaaaaaappy biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirthdaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay tooooo youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

<Sniffle> Y’all are so tremendously nice! Thank you so much for the wonderful birthday wishes. I loved the cake and the serenades!

This place never fails to cheer me up. Mr. Silver1 was a bit sheepish at learning that he’d forgotten all about it and later had the kids draw some sweet little crayon pictures for me.

I snapped out of my little funk and am back to my old self. I got some adorable crayon scribblings (ever read “Happy Birthday Mama” written in crayon by your three-year old? So cute!) from the Silverjuniors and it’s all good.

You all are the best.

Glad to hear the family was belated but apologetic. I hope you had a happy day-after-your-birthday, since the actual one didn’t come off so well. I’ve had my birthday forgotten a few times, and I know how much it sucks. Have some more cake.
