IMHO if you won’t have an excess of seats (like an extra 10-20%) then you should assign tables, as mentioned so you don’t have the lone single or couple who ends up at a table with people they don’t know, have nothing in common with, and will probably never see again. Personally I always prefer assigned tables so I don’t have to go save a seat for myself, but to each his own.
I concur. My wife and I didn’t have assigned seating past that at our wedding reception, and everything worked out fine.
Good advice, everyone and thanks again. I think we’ll try assigning tables, not seats. Our tables are going to be book themed and that way we can at least have people who will appreciate Hitchhiker’s Guide sitting at the H2G2 table.
