To select SDMB Cheatriots' Defenders

There are also the numerous analyses, fully discussed in the Games thread, showing just *how *Wells fabricated the analysis to reach the required conclusion, and that an objective analysis shows no issue. But you know that too, don’t you, Hentor?

And we’re back in ElvisL!vesLand again. Where the Patriots weren’t actually punished for cheating, where he can lie about what he actually said, where the actual evidence doesn’t matter, where threads can be re-written by his delusions, and where substanceless repetition counts as debate.

I agree the evidence showed that the two staffers did the dirty work. The evidence also revealed their discussions with Brady.

Any rational person would know that they weren’t manipulating footballs without Brady’s say-so. There would be no reason for them to do so. Any reasonable person knows that their texts confirm that Brady was paying them off and was expressing his unhappiness with their efforts at times. Any reasonable person knows that Brady purposefully destroyed the evidence. That’s what people know.

Basically, Brady went with the George Costanza defense. After George was found to have had sex with the cleaning woman on his desk, he protested that if he had known such behavior was frowned upon, he never would have done it! The difference is that George still got fired, but Brady got off.

Well, George got off too…

On that score, the rumors are that Brady doesn’t. At least not with Gisele. You know what they say about men with girl hands.

So to be clear, you don’t really care about the evidence. You only care that you know Brady cheated.

I listed evidence.

Tell us more about your expertise in statistical analysis, and how you applied it to the “data”.

Oh, right, you didn’t, did you?

I do have expertise in statistical analyses. It isn’t relevamt to the evidence I described above.

If you think you can statistically analyze two guys talking about Tom Brady being satisfied with their efforts to deflate balls, you are a lot dumber than everyone already thinks you are.

Hmm, why would you *not *want to discuss the reported actual ball pressures, in a discussion centered on ball pressure?

Man, I know you’re trying to do a whole “I’m clearly arguing with kids schtick here,” but you are coming off as a seriously creepy motherfucker in this thread. Neither witty nor incisive.

Just, you know, FYI.

Show us on this doll where the bad Patriot touched you.

Nope. Not even remotely a pro football fan. Neutral observer, reading a meltdown thread.

Looking through a long thread on a topic that doesn’t even interest you, to find quotes that support a pet thesis, is pretty damn stalkerish and creepy in itself, isn’t it?

Look at it this way: I don’t know you from Adam, and reading casually through the thread was still enough for it to stand out. So I went back and grabbed the quotes. Didn’t take me long. When you’re playing in a SDMB Mafia game, a 250-post-thread ain’t really a thing.

I’ve got no particular interest in ‘proving’ anything to you, or even getting into an argument with you.

Take it or leave it, homie. You’re being pretty creepy.

Edit: I edited out a word that’s not allowed in the pit. Don’t really spend much time here, so I apologize for the “motherfucker” comment above. The overall point does stand, though.

Of course.

I don’t have much trouble believing that Brady was involved in the deflating scheme while removed enough to maintain plausible deniability. The actual evidence of his involvement is thin and circumstantial, though, and I did think that four games was heavy handed.

But what I really wanted to comment on was your prediction that he is going to have the worst season of his career. I don’t know what you can base that on, looking at his performance in the playoffs last year after the deflated balls were discovered. He may have a down year but there isn’t any evidence the under inflated balls gave him much of a competitive advantage.

See, all you have to do to make something true is to *wish *for it hard enough.

In the case of actual data that, when analyzed honestly, shows the cheating you just *know *occurred did not occur after all, you simply have to *wish *for it not to exist.

Likewise, all you have to do to make Brady have a bad season is to wish for it. Wish hard enough, and you know he will.

Religion works somewhat like that too. But so does foolishness.

His performance after the deflated balls were discovered involved a whopping one and a half games.

I expect his completion percentage will drop and both his and the team’s fumble rates will go up markedly.
