To Tell The Truth anomaly

So I just finished watching an episode of the latest version of To Tell The Truth a few minutes ago, and the last part caught my eye. I recognized one of the three people stepping up and I immediately realized what the claim was going to be: One of these people is a “psychic detective”. I knew this because the woman I recognized was Nora Renier, a well known fraud that has brought nothing but pain and misery to those she has claimed to have helped. Here is one of many articles describing her deceptive practices.
Is this the first time all three people presented turned out to be liars?

It is true that the person on the show makes her living as a psychic detective. In other words, she’s a genuine fraud, as opposed to the other two people pretending to be frauds.

She probably lied during the show, if she said she was helpful, though.

She lied about a bunch of her so-called accomplishments.

I’m pretty sure Frank Abagnale, Jr., once appeared on TTTT. He was a genuine fraud, the other two were fraudulent frauds.

Frank told the truth about being a fraud.

No, he didn’t. Even while profiting from his criminal history, he lied and embellished for entertainment value and ego.

So that night, yeah, there were three liars on stage. But I admit, it doesn’t answer your actual question, which apparently was something along the lines of “don’t psychics suck?”

Sorry to have wasted your time.

Did he lie and embellish when he appeared on To Tell The Truth?
eta: And my actual question was “my actual question”.

Everyone is a liar, in the sense that everyone has told lies sometime in their lives. So the answer to the OP’s question is no, every episode had three liars on the stage.

Seems likely, as his appearance was predicated on a fabulist’s memoir, one which the author admitted was inaccurate (though he blamed his ghostwriter). The TTTT episode is available on YouTube. Check it out, if only for the entertainment value: Joe Garagiola was a polite and amiable host.

Honestly, I only stopped by to try to offer a contribution to a potentially fun discussion, not to bother you with an insufficiently rigorous answer. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to digging up the real dirt on Art Linkletter’s House Party.

Holy fuck. :smack:
I didn’t realize such a simple question would be so hard to understand, but I will try to make it even simpler: Have there been other occasions on “To Tell The Truth” where the person supposedly telling the truth about the claim made for all three participants turned out to also be lying about that claim?

Mark Evanier mentioned in his blog seeing an episode of TTTT from 1957 that featured Jack Bothwell, a guy claiming that he performed in the Our Gang/Little Rascals films during his childhood. Evanier noted that Bothwell was a fraud, and had never appeared in the series.

My favorite part of the segment was seeing Patti LaBelle’s reaction. She did not for one minute think that this person was a true psychic, whoever it was.

Thank you.

I noticed that, too.
