To the GOP: why are some still licking the boots of Rush Limbaugh?

Yeah, but salad has far more fiber. So if you want to stay regular…

wring, that’s true about Keith, but at least he seems to realize he can be a raving loon at times. That and he’s a lot sexier than Billo and Rush could ever hope to be.

Well, the fact that he has a sense of humor about himself helps a lot.

Pot, kettle. Get back under your bridge; nobody was talking about Al gore in 2000, asshole.
I’ve seen you do this a thousand times, post some lame one-line drive-by link to some unrelated bullshit in an attempt to derail the conversation onto a tangent. the when someone takes the bait, you turn on them and try to start a bitchfight. You do it for the attention, don’t you? You can’t stand to see people talking about someone else, so you have to start a bitchfight to turn the attention to yourself. Pathetic. People weren’t talking about you enough, so you had to throw that line in about “Obama’s dick in your mouth”. Oh, how shocking, like a potty-mouth eighth grader.

As for your “rhetorical question”, that’s all you’re capable of, cheap rhetoric in the form of snarky “Alanis Morissette ironic” question. It’s lame, mean-spirited, disingenuous and it reveals the bitter, joyless person that you are. You’re a one-trick troll and I’m not the only one to see through it.

Now I’ll spend the rest of this thread ignoring you.

Regards yourself, troll.

Like when he signed the petition O’Reilly had to get himself (Keith) fired, and had everyone else at MSNBC sign it as well? And did so live on air?

or played the clip of Ben Affleck impersonating him.

That was hysterical but perhaps a little too well-done - I haven’t been able to look at Keith the same way since.

The repubs are scared. They had an 8 year run and destroyed the world economy. They oversaw a foreclosure disaster and a huge centering of wealth in the rich. They lied us into a war and then refused to pay for it. They are at risk . If Obama can actually make things better the repubs may dwindle away.
Rush is one of the few voices still making noise. He has nothing,.but the repubs are desperate. They screwed up so badly they will turn to anyone. Rush is a lying prick, but he is their lying prick. They would run him for office if they could find a way to meet his salary.

While Rush is undoubtedly a Republic Party cheerleader, he also preaches a brand of conservatism that is hardly recognizable in few of the current Republican Party elected members.

The Contract with America might as well have been written with in a foreign language in respect to majority of the Republican Congressmen. The view from middle-America fly over country is that they no longer distinguish a difference between a Republican & a Democrat (although the current Administration & Congress is reminding them).

It’s not that Republican members are licking the boots of Rush. The reason they lost their voting supporters is that they became just more of the same DC politicians.

I used to worry about all of this stuff, but I no longer care about the Rush Limbaughs of the world. The GOP has chosen their path, and it’s a one-way street to obscurity. I don’t really care anymore whether they reform or come around or whatever, and it seems they don’t really care anymore if I vote for them. I’m focusing my energy on reforming the Democratic Party, which I think is a better party, but still has a lot of kinks that need to be worked out.

Sometimes I wonder if I live in the same country as some of the posters on this board, who seem to reside in “Democrat Fantasy Land”.

As opposed to the “we build our own reality” Republicans ?

No, no - I understood you completely - anyone who flunks out of school is unworthy of serious consideration in any matter political.

And someone with a degree from Harvard is necessarily better than someone who flunked out of school. Your point is perfectly clear. You didn’t need the caps.

Although the rather touchingly naive enthusiasm about “Hey, everyone! I found a cite!” stuff was nice. The attempt to pretend that anyone was disputing it so as to avoid the contradiction in your thoughts (such as they are) was a bit lame, but still…

Regards,
Shodan

Like the guy they just elected chairman of the Republican National Committee?

Steele’s the name, Michael Steele.

No we live in the Republican real world. It is an ugly place where the rich get richer and the poor and middle class get looted.

As Seth Myers pointed out, “You guys know it doesn’t take just any black man, right?”

He stopped slamming addicts several years before he got caught. He also doesn’t slam gays, at least not in public. Don’t know about his stance on gay marriage.

Bumping this. Just a month old, but I think Rush does not deserve even a new thread.

Damn it, I said **some **Republicans!

Mr Steele, that was just pathetic[sup]2[/sup].

Rush on Steele and the RNC today, before Steele’s apology:

They’re going to end up having to buy Rush a big pearl ring, and a sceptre of some sort.

I really think that if he wanted to, Bloomberg could build a party around himself pulling in rational conservatives who have been cast aside by the Republican party for not being sufficiently pure. I’d wager it would take off like wild fire and within 4 years put the current GOP in with the Greens, Libertarians, and others of that ilk.

I like TPM’s observation that all thees Republican leaders having to bow down to Limbaugh for daring to criticize him is very very much like the Maoist “self-criticism” session. So far only Eric Cantor has had the balls to, well, hold onto his balls. We’ll see how long that lasts.
