Tobacco as a spice?

There is a rumor among my circle of friends that tobacco can be used as a spice. Does anyone know anything about cooking with tobacco?
On one hand, if you can cook with marijuana, why not tobacco?
But on the other hand, nicotine is an insect repellent and you would be crazy to put insect repellent in your food. But then, I smoke, and I put insect repellent in my lungs every day, so why not cook with it, other than the fact that it might taste horrible?

I have seen recipes for chili and some cajun dishes that actually call for “tobacco juice.” I was never brave enough to ask how they obtained that ingredient…

Tobacco juice - just find a couple of tobacco blackened lungs (aged 40 years) and squeeze into a bowl. Tobacco juice.

OMG!

BTW Don’t try soaking tabacco in water and using that. IIRC nicotine is water soluble and you’ll end up with a very dangerous brew of nicotine juice.

I was going to sternly advise you not to eat tobacco, since nicotine is mildly toxic. Then I found this. I’m not sure if you have to be a smoker, but… start cookin’ I guess.
(IMO sounds foul to me. Shrimp and Tobacco… yum! tastes like the floor of the Red Lobster.)

This sounds like the perfect way to encourage the violent ejection of stomach contents.

Tobacco used as a seasoning in various ways is not unheard of. I’ve heard of it mostly in the context of sauces, or even tobacco cream. I think the New York Times Dining section had a brief article on restaurants in New York that used it.

Tobacco and marijuana are both poisonous to the body. The difference is that nicotine is much more deadlier than THC. I have tasted small flakes of tobacco when I have smoked unfiltered cigarettes, (yuck).

I have eaten marijuana, this really should not be done, especially with someone who is new to smoking dope. I went on a trip to Laos, a country in SE Asia, where pot is more or less legal as long as its private. I went to a tourist town where a place was selling marijuana shakes for about 2.50 USD. You drink one and about a half hour later you are out of your skull. It is difficult to measure a comfort zone while eating weed, because when consumed, the effects do not come right away and the user does not know how much to take. The high from the marijuana shake was not unlike the feeling of LSD.

Smoking pot is much better because one knows when they are high and not want anymore. But eating weed can be OK if cooked because one can eat them outside and the cops wont know the wiser.

GRADY

Ummm… okayyyyy.
Maybe you should consider…

never mind.

Which explains why America is littered with the bodies of people poisoned by chewing tobacco.

In the interest of accucary, this ain’t true. I’ve made and drank bhang (THC dissolved in flavoured and seasoned milk). You do trip, but the only thing similar to acid is the time dilation aspect of the “trip”.
