In just under 5 hours I’ll be taking my PA state licensing test to become an agent!
The test is 101 questions, all multiple choice, and I have a two hour time limit. I’ve been studying like mad and have spent at least 3 hours a day for the last 3 taking online simulated quizzes. Passing grade is 70 percent. I’ve been able to get 86 - 93 percent on the quizzes and am consistently scoring around 70 on the mock test. I took a 5-day cram course two weeks ago and attended a 2-day follow up last week.
Once I pass I’ll be working in an office contracted to manage Medicare’s open enrollment period. The job pays $15 an hour, which will be greatly appreciated. It’s a short-term position, enrollment ends Feb 15th, but the company retains 80% of the agents afterwards. Even if I’m in the 20% who don’t stay, my license is mine and is good for 2 years. I can renew it forever as long as I take continuing ed classes.
