Today is my (sniff) last day on the SDMB

I know what most of you are thinking: Who?

But for those of you who do know me, I thought I should pop in one last time and say goodbye (or at least say “see you later, but probably not for a really really long time”).

I am one of those poor sad people who only have access to a computer at work, a situation that will likely not change any time soon. And in accordance with our new workplace Internet policy, we are no longer allowed to post to message boards, news groups, etc. Not even on our own break/lunch time (which was the only way I did it before. Honest!).

I haven’t been posting much lately anyway because I have been very busy at work, so I missed out on meeting a lot of the new people who joined the board lately, and I have also missed out on interacting with the folks who got me here in the first place.

So anyway, I want to thank all of you who have entertained me with your wit, intelligence, and all that other good stuff for the past year and a half. You brightened my days countless times, even though you probably didn’t know it.

So until the day comes when I finally make that plunge for a compter at home (it should be right around the time all my kids stop needing food, shelter, and new clothes:)) I will be sadly without this community to make me laugh, teach me new things, and (very) occasionally listen to me rant.

Bye for now!
Dennis

[sub]And it just figures that this would happen right before the Packers-Bears game, when I was getting geared up to trash talk with the Bears fans. Sigh…[/sub]

NOOOOoooooOOOOOOoo Bottle of Smoke!

Don’t go. The only civil smart packer fan in the world? I can’t believe it.

I’ll miss ya!

Bye BoS. I’ll miss you, my fellow Pogues-lover! All my best.

Hey jarbaby – “civil smart packer fan,” eh?

It’s probably for the best that I go before the Bears game, then. I wouldn’t want you to see my raving, incoherent, fly-off-the-handle side and have my reputation ruined.
Bye Rasa! I’ll think of you whenever I crank up Rum Sodomy and the Lash in the ol’ minivan.

Alas, I feel I knew you well from the first post of yours I ever read I wish you well.

Steven

Fair winds, BoS. Not that we’ve interacted much, but I definitely know who you are and will miss your presence on these boards.

If I see a computer drop off a truck, I’ll certainly keep your name in mind.

I hope you don’t really have to be gone for very long. You will be missed.

Please check your e-mail, I may have something for you.

I hate when one of my favorite posters leaves.

Don’t the local libraries have internet access? Can’t you check in once in awhile from there?

Please?

Well, Garsh. Thanks for all the well-wishes, guys. It’s nice to know I’ll be missed.

I’ll look into the library thing. That may come in handy if I feel the need to feed the addiction. The only problem is that I don’t have much opportunity during the day to get out of work and stop at the library (we work a compressed work week, so I have a very short lunch), and the local library in my little 'burb town isn’t open after I get home from work.

But my folks have a computer and we vist them every so often Up Nort’ so I may be able to pop in once in a blue moon.

Anyway…keep the light on for me.

Bye!

well, well, poo!!!

i’ll miss you.

Well, according to Steve the Dell guy, you can get a fabulous computer for only 99 cents…or was that a quesadilla from Taco Bell?

Do stop back in as soon as you can!

Only one eh? Harumph. I have a good mind to put you over my knee…

and NOT spank you.
Heathen.

Good luck, BoS. Gotta love anyone named after a Pogues song. Try to check in now and then.
