Today, we are cancelling the Apocalypse! (Pacific Rim) SPOILERS!

Also poor acting and horribly written “comedy” scenes.

I noticed on the first page of the thread that someone who saw this in a theater didn’t know what happened to Ron Pearlman’s character because they didn’t watch the whole movie. If you want to see the whole movie, be sure to watch the whole movie.

Finally saw it and saw that it was a movie made for a focus group of one person, my wife. Thirty years ago (ten years into our marriage), trying to rent something she’d like after several failures (there was only so much Star Trek to be had), I asked her what kind of movie she liked.

“Monsters, things blowing up, things blowing up monsters, and monsters blowing up things.”

At that moment I finally gave up on seeing anything with any depth.

This movie was awesome, and there were two possible drinking games to be played while watching it. First would be to take a drink whenever anything that defied logic, sensibility, or physics occurred. Second would be to take a drink every time there was a monster movie, summer blockbuster, or anime cliche, given with a wink to the fanbois and fangrrls. No human could survive either game.

Yeah, this thread is a zombie. Wife likes zombie movies, too.
