Toddlers on a leash: yay or no?

WhyNot, can you link to a place where I can buy the puppy harness online?

I’ve already bought the amby baby bed and the maya slings you recommended in this thread; I might as well complete the whole set

We got ours at Target.

I aprove absolutely, and will get one when I have children; they’re cool, and they keep your child safer than holding them by the hand does.

Just the other day, there was another news story of a toddler who slipped out of his fathers hand and ran into the street; he never even saw the car :frowning:

I don’t have kids, but if (or when) I had one, I would be so going on a walk with kid on one leash and kitty on the other. It would be awesome

Used harnesses for both of my kids. It gave them just enough freedom at, say, the mall, so they could walk on their own but we didn’t run the risk of them making a run for it. Both of my kids have a history of totally ignoring parental guidance when they see something interesting enough, so they could have gotten thoroughly lost before I was able to find them.

Nobody ever said a word.

My husband was a leash-wearer in the early 60s and his mother did get flack for it. However, her father-in-law was an orthopedist who’d seen his share of dislocations due to kids being dragged around by taller adults, and was very pleased she chose to use one.

I’m told I was “leashed” occasionally as a toddler. Once when my parents visited the Grand Canyon. Later, when my mother took us to join our father at an air base in the Frozen North–by train. She was pregnant, with one babe in arms. And me, running around.

This was many years ago & I have no idea whether my parents were “chastised.” If so, I’d like to give a retroactive “f*ck off” to any busybodies.
