I just got back from thanksgiving dinner where I feasted on Tofurky, tempeh drumsticks, and tojurky. I thought that the gravy was great with the tofurky but the stuffing left a little to be desired. All in all not a bad meal but not something I would want terribly often.
Anyone else try tofurky?
Please tell me you at least watched football, or else you’re a communist.
Just curious…did the tofurky bear any resemblance at all to real turkey? I mean, tastewise?
As I mentioned in this thread, http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=47470 , we went to the restaurant at the Hari Krishna temple for dinner. The meal was fantastic, and we had to be rolled out of the place, but to be honest, the tofurkey was the weak link in the meal. It was good, but too tofuy, and not all that turkey tasting.
Well yeah I would assume so. Indian food FAR outweighs any subsitute meat product i have ever had. I can’t believe that they even served tofurky at a krishna temple! It was by no means an incredible meal. I just was saying that it was not a horrible substitute. It was fun compared to just getting to eat some of the side dishes with everyone.
