This might be a tad bizarre, but I always wondered about
the way people chose to hang up their toilet rolls. In principle
there are two ways: the loose end can hang towards the
wall or towards the rest of the room.
My question is, how on earth can someone evre consider
to hang the roll with the loose end towards the wall?
How can you rip off the paper? I can only think of the
perhaps slightly more aestetically pleasing aspect.
Did anyone ever think of this engineering problem?

If you have a cat and the TP is in overhand orientation kitty will turn it into a toy and a huge mess in short order.
Ann Landers beat this dog to death. I think you are lucky if the damn thing gets hung in either fashion, which is better than putting it on the counter top.
Next we can discuss the pros and cons of leaving the toilet seat up.

In our house, the males were taught to be sure to lift the lid BEFORE urinating. Everyone was on his own to make sure the lid was down before sitting. Made perfect sense to me.
Gary T I totally agree. If for some reason the rule is that the seat has to always be lowered then so must the lid, which makes it an even field (but a pretty silly one) for both sexes. I don’t know why females think that they should be able to use the dern thing with their eyes closed.

This is a General Question to which the General Answer is “toilet paper is to be hung over the top.”
But since so many people seem to have incorrect opinions about this, I suppose the IMHO thread k2dave referenced can be allowed to stay open.
