It was Erendis, and she did teach her daughter not to trust men, but I was going more for the advice that women fight in their own way, that they are just as strong as the men of Numenor and just as stubborn. That Ancalime should “set her roots into the rock and face the wind, though it blow away all her leaves”, which is as close to a direct quote as I can remember without paging back.
And Eregion (answering my own bonus question) is also the name of a character in the expansion to the sequel of Ultima 7. So he’s in Serpent Isle, specifically Silver Seed, though I think he shows up whether you install the expansion or not. He comes from another world, which is proven to sadly not be Middle Earth.
Bloemfontein, South Africa.
And because I can…
- Where did Aragorn and his zombie army camp on their way to Pelargir?
This might be a little too esoteric. Specifically I’m looking for the name of the place where the road from Erech goes east. There’s a ford over a river there, and a hill, and there’s a town there. I’m looking for the name of the town.
Also, for fun and because I really DO know this…

-
Who, as part of his/her dialogue, says the words of the title in the movie “The Return of the King”? Gandalf, to Denethor.
Not quite. The river I’m speaking of meets the Ringlo after it flows through this ford. I’m looking for the name of the township there.
It is in Lamedon, with Angbor the Fearless (IIRC; at least I know it was Angbor) running it.
Have I possibly come up with a question that QtM cannot answer?
Are these the ones with the… oh, how can I describe them. My mother had a set of Tolkien paperbacks, the ones I first read the series with. They had all sorts of wild creatures on them in various seventies-vibrant colors; they looked something like paper cut-outs.
Upon Googling, no, apparently not. Ah well.

Poor quality paper, bounding and Artwork. But I am happy to have these little physical pieces of trivia.

Not without my maps, I can’t answer it. I love my ME maps, but I haven’t been able to absorb all the details!
Map-inspired question!

255) What ship sailed there and for what purpose?
Is anyone else going to give a try to #247, or should I answer it?
