There, there, don’t beat yourself up. We all have our off days.
I was going to answer the question but I see in preview that Qadgop is emailing the answer to someone else instead of answering it on the board, so I guess it’s still on the table.
And I received and replied to your e-mail, Qadgop.
Sounds good otherwise I would now have to start looking it up.
To keep the questions going: lets leave them for someone else QtM
55) Name the Mountain that contains the major Goblin/Orc Kingdom in the North of the Misty Mountains where the meet the Grey Mountains.
56) What is the Elvish name of the Grey Mountains?
57) What is the only Town shown on the map between Bree and Rohan?
**One hopefully extra hard one for anyone: **
58) What number was the hall closest to the Chamber of Records?
Where were all you guys when I was a teenager (and a 20-somethinger and 30-somethinger) and the only one I knew who read these books over and over and didn’t have anyone to talk to about all this?
I am very, very rusty on my trivia but I did know who Arien was, it’s my favorite name. All the other ones I knew were answered way too quickly. I am cursed with a poor memory and not having read the books in a while. I guess it’s time to read up again.
I don’t think this was answered so I am going to take a wild guess which is probably wrong but for some reason the word “Rohern” popped into my head.
He called it the “tongue of Rohan” a few times, and Rohanese in some of his notes. His linguistic students suspect that calling Rohirian would be consistant with his approach to language. It was Robert Foster who coined the term “Rohirric”, which JRRT didn’t use, as far as can be found out.
