Tom Sizemore accused of indecent assault on an 11-year old girl in 2003

My God, are all Hollywood actors a bunch of sleazebags? This shit never stops.

Here’s the story.

I really do not want to believe this, Tom Sizemore is one of my favorite character actors, he was absolutely great in the recent Twin Peaks revival. Unfortunately though this looks to be well-substantiated and my thoughts now are not so much in lamenting Sizemore’s downfall as in feeling so sorry for the kid that had to suffer this. She’s 26 now and is in the process of suing Sizemore and the studio concerned and, oddly enough, her own parents.

I think people in sports, entertainment, and politics, are often people who grew up in really ordinary circumstances, and then, if they became successful, had meteoric rises, and suddenly had money and power. They did, and do stupid things with it. They do stupid things with their money, like buying houses they can’t afford to upkeep, and really expensive cars, and they squander their power on things like abusing other people.

OK, so not everyone does, but a heck of a lot people do.

You certainly get celebrities who invest money wisely, and start charity foundations, and if they throw their weight around at all, it’s for political movements they believe in. But they’re pretty rare.

Probably because there’s no quicker way of ruining someone’s career and reputation if you have an axe to grind (and maybe get a little cash and publicity in the process).

I don’t believe a word of this shit, no matter how many people “come forward” years after the fact. Nor do I automatically believe what a woman says simply because she’s a woman.

God knows what, if anything, happened on the set of that movie, and it’s impossible to tell now. This will not, however, stop scandal mongers from spreading their venom, ensuring that Sizemore will be “convicted” long before he gets to tell his side of the story and his guilt or innocence is established.

Neither do I understand why people would be willing accomplices to this, other than they’re just plain assholes who get some kind of self-satisfaction out of it. (“I stood up for the victim, and I’m **proud **of it!”) PUH-LEEZE!

It’s a world of opportunists and enablers, sycophants and entitlement. If you’re not grounded, all you see is other people encouraging complete and utter chaotic debauchery. e.g. most movie sets provide cocaine.

It’s a system that’s overdue for change, but I don’t think anybody ever expected it to happen. And who knows, maybe it won’t and this is just a burst of disruption that will be forgotten in a few years’ time and will be back to the usual repulsive depravity once more.

Didn’t we already know that Sizemore was a sleazeball?

Well, he’s a serial (convicted in a court of law) domestic abuser, so yeah, sleazeball is accurate. Not that that’d be good enough for some people.

There has to be an equivalent term to “White Knighter” for the people who are always first in with “it’s just her word” and “it happened so long ago.” I mean, I understand reasonable caution, for instance I would never take just a Kinja site’s word for anything, like the Louis CK story, but c’mon - it’s Tom Sizemore, not Tom Hanks.

Yeah, Spielberg had him drug tested during Saving Private Ryan. He did 7 months in jail and 4 months in drug treatment for beating his girlfriend. When on probation, he got busted with meth. This year he got another domestic abuse conviction. He’s been a wreck most of his life. This is less surprising than Jeremy Piven.

Last I heard of this guy was that he was a bankrupted drug addict living on the street.

That is a pretty weak accusation yet it still resulted in Sizemore being kicked off the set. The playbook normally calls for denial but this time they must have had good reason to believe the incident happened. The only question left is what moron stuck an 11 year old girl on that sleazebag’s lap for a picture.

Maybe this guy?

So why the fuck didn’t anybody do anything about this in 2003?

Yep. Business as usual, as soon as the next big scandal/terrorist attack/mass shooting diverts the attention away.

In 2003 kicking the guy off the set was doing a lot about it. In the 14 years since then there have been plenty of incidents where it’s been handled as business as usual, denial, cover-up, let it happen again. If anyone hired Sizemore after this incident they need to be looked at.

Exactly what I was coming in to say. Color me utterly unsurprised on this one. Known scumbag with a longggg history of substance abuse acted inappropriately - this should not be a great shock.

Nice post/sig combination.

Didn’t he also release some kind of porno a few years back because his career was doing terribly?

This is one of the *least *surprising accusations.

Wasn’t he also dating Heidi Fleiss at one point? (Seriously, of all the latest accusations, this one is the least shocking – it’s like hearing that water is wet)

Another recent story: Andy Dick apparently gropes people? I am shocked, and had to check that it wasn’t an old article from a decade ago when he did that a bunch and everyone was fine with it.

Is “Sizemore” his porn name?

Yep, she was also his first (known) domestic violence victim

Yeah, when this one broke, my only thought was “Sounds legit.”
