He has met his stretch goals, or at least the important ones. His collection is a nice piece of history, or at least an odd one.
Very interesting–virtually all the ‘special feature’ sets have been spoken for.
I do wonder if he’s correct in thinking that no mainstream publisher would have agreed to publish the set, though.
As the newspaper industry continues its slow collapse, alt weekly cartoonists have received a steady drip of cancellation notices. This reduces their exposure. TT’s last compilation book was published in 2010. From his website: [INDENT]He received the first place Robert F. Kennedy Award for Excellence in Journalism in 1998 and in 2003. Other honors include:
1993: Media Alliance Meritorious Achievement Award
1995: Society of Professional Journalists James Madison Freedom of Information Award
2000: Association for Education in Journalism and Education, Professional Freedom and Responsibility Award
2001: James Aronson Award for Social Justice Journalism
2004: Altweekly Award, 2nd Place
2006: Altweekly Award, 3rd Place

I enjoy the strip, but I think reading one a year old would be almost incomprehensible. Twenty-five year old strips? Why bother?
This is what crowdfunding is good for. I totally understand why no mainstream publisher would touch this.
