I bought some nice little Campari Tomatoes on the vine at the store only a couple days ago. I went to cut one up for my sandwich, and I noticed the Vine is covered in what looks like Green powdery mold. The tomatoes themselves still look good, firm red and non wrinkly. I’ve never seen that before, are they good if I wash them off before eating?
I’ve never seen that before, but I usually just buy the tomato sauce instead of an actual tomato.
Tomatoes should be good if there’s nothing actually on the tomato; I guess I’d taste it first, before I made something with it…
I’ve never seen green mold on any vegetable, just on baked goods. But tomato plants can sometimes have a powdery sort of texture all on their own, and they are of course green. Are you sure it’s mold?
No I’m not positive exactly what it is, but it some form of growth.
Well, I ate one for lunch. And to spare the details of how I spent the late afternoon and evening, and with no actual definitive proof of causation, I can now report they were not fine to eat and are now in the garbage.
Ouch. I was sure that they would be fine. My condolences.
