Tombstune

I’ve wanted to start this for the longest time.
This game is a two parter:

1.Assume you get to list ONE song on a bands tombstone. The song should embrace all that the band strived to be. What song would it be? One Hit wonders obviously need not apply.
(The song you list has to be one that the band sang)

Ex:

Nirvana : Smeels Like Teen Spirit

  1. You have died. what one song would you want on your tombstone to summarize your life?

Kenny Rogers : The Gambler

Well this is easy.

Led Zepplin: Stairway to Heaven.

Get it?

I think another rule for Part 1 should be that the song should also be somehow appropriate on a tombstone (to which your Nirvana suggestion perversely works)

Led Zeppelin: Stairway to Heaven
The Beatles: I Feel Fine
Bob Dylan: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door
Talking Heads: Once in a Lifetime

Shouldn’t the Talking Heads one be Road to Nowhere?

The Muffs: Lucky Guy

Alice in Chains: Down in a Hole.

Pink Floyd: The Great Gig in the Sky

Like falling off a log, that one.

Eagle : Life in the Fast Lane.

I meant to say “Eagles” in the above post. To make up for it, I’ll add:

AC/DC : Highway to Hell.

AC/DC - Highway To Hell
Massive Attack - Angel
U2 - Gone

Because this is easy and I’m bored ( and it is playing as I speak ( which is every three minutes anyway)):

Green Day : I walk a lonely road.

Metallica - Enter Sandman

Meatloaf : Bat outta hell.

I don’t know why I can’t think of the next one while I’m still composing the previous one.

Van Halen : Running with the Devil.

Primus–Bob

Ted Nugent : "He died of Cat Scratch Fever .

Britney Spears: “Oops, I Did It Again” :: smirk ::

Foreigner : Cold as Ice.

Not exactly quintessential but,

Lynyrd Skynyrd : Dead Man Walkin’

the afghan whigs:

“step into the light”

a tribe called quest:

“can i kick it? (yes you can)”

del the funky homosapien:

“no more worries”

morrissey:

“first of the gang to die”
or
“you know i couldn’t last”

the smiths:

“i know it’s over”
or
“cemetry gates”
or
“heaven knows i’m miserable now”
or
“death at one’s elbow”
or
“handsome devil”

wilco:

“why would you wanna live”
