Tonight I got to do something I never thought I'd ever be able to do

See The Replacements in concert!

They were such a big part of my high school music days.

And in two weeks, another reunion show from a seminal band in the formation of GovernmentMan’s music tastes – Sleater-Kinney! I saw their last show here when I was in high school, never thinking that they would break up very soon after.

Well, how was it? What did they play? How was Paul?

So happy for you!

One of the greatest joys in life is seeing your favourite bands in concert. Looking at them with your own eyes and hearing your favourite songs done live. The feeling is incredible.

I got into the band juuust in time to catch them on the All Shook Down tour. I remember how annoyed I was that the local newspaper didn’t give the show a positive review. In retrospect, that review was probably more accurate than I’d like to admit, in that The Replacements had gone from being legendary to merely very good. But at least they were past the point in their career where screwing with the audience took precedence over playing some music.

Awesome! I’m seeing the Replacements in a couple weeks (never got a chance to see them live) and finally saw Sleater-Kinney in concert a couple months ago for the first time. Awesome show. They’re perhaps my favorite band of the last twenty years and I kept on missing them when they came through town for one reason or another. I wasn’t sure I’d ever get a chance to see them.

Before opening the thread, my guess was going to be something of the “Stickin’ it to The Man!” variety. /letdown
