Tonight I will bowl, and it will be good!

This evening after work my fiancee and I are going bowling with my boss, his wife, and a few other coworkers. Since this outing was planned several weeks ago, I have been doing a lot of trash talking. More trash talking than is prudent I think. :smack:

Usually when I go bowling, I am doing good to break 100. However, for some completely insane reason I have been telling everyone at work, in glorious detail, by just how much I am going to beat them…this usually amounts to quite a few pins.

I was stressing out about this until last week when ESPN and several of the other ESPN channels started showing various PBA bowling events. I feel that by watching these shows, studying proper form, and trying to get a combover that looks just right, I stand a fighting chance of kicking some serious ass in bowling tonight.

Sure, actually going bowling and practicing might have been a better way to improve my skills, but who actually has time to practice? So, I am going into this evening with positive thoughts and fresh images of pro bowlers burned into my mind. I may not bowl a 300 tonight, but I am optimistic that bowling victory will be mine!

I’ve noticed that the consumption of a few beers usually improves my game.
Maybe it will do the same for you.

Watch for nihilists.

The bowling was…disappointing.

The first game I bowled a 98, coming in second place to my boss.

The second game is bowled a 78, coming in last out of six people.

I did dominate the third game, bowling a 136, handily beating my boss who only scored 132.

All in all, not as strong of an outing as I was hoping for. Perhaps I simply didn’t drink enough beer…
