Tonight's (10/17) "Amazing Race" (SPOILERS!)

Is it just me or is Team Guido playing dirty? I mean, I never felt much affection for them, but tonight they bordered on breaking the rules. At the airport, they purposely blocked the line to the plane so that the other teams would be late. And I don’t believe for one second that it was any kind of innocent mistake or whatever their bull**** story was. At the end when they were trying to blame Drew and Kevin…that was just sick. Starting a big ruckus like that in an airport is just not f-ing funny! And it’s not strategy either. It’s rude and it’s mean and it shows poor sportsmanship.

I wish they would have docked them points or time or something because of that little stunt.

Please add your opinions/comments/etc.

Also: Go Drew and Kevin!

Is Team Guido unethical?

Yeah.

Does it make good television?

Hell yeah!

I missed the first 5 minutes of the show, did they specifically say that no team would be eliminated on that leg of the race?

The whole Evil Gay Villain schtick is getting kinda old. The sorority sisters showed some promise, but they got eliminated too soon to really hate them all that much.

Yeah! I didn’t like these guys at first, but they really grew on me. I think the turning point was in Paris, where they missed the Ferris wheel by just a few minutes and they had the presence of mind to go for the Fast Forward rather than wait for it to re-open. Also, bonus points for getting the Star Wars reference. Despite their bickering, they really work well together as a team.

No they didn’t. I was pretty pissed at the end when no one got booted. Although it probably would have been Mom & Emily (due to the credit received by Lenny and Karen), and I would miss them.

Jeannie - Thank you for taking an interest in this show (which I’m liking a lot more than Survivor, even though it’s flawed in places). Please visit my own thread on this and tell me what you think. Same board, second or third page as I write this.

Judging by Lenny Hudson and Karen Jefferson’s expressions upon arrival, I’m pretty sure that they already knew that this was a nonelimination leg. (Why now? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have them in the early stages?) I don’t think their time credit is enough to put them in front of Nancy and Emily Hoyt (the mother and daughter, respectively). It doesn’t matter, of course…they’re toast.

Terminus est - Kim Smith and Leslie Kellner made a completely unforgivable blunder; they immediately assumed the had to take the elevator to the top of the tower and didn’t even bother to check around a base, which would’ve wasted no more than a couple of minutes anyway. And they they topped it off by haggling for change from a taxi driver…they brought in a cop, for crying out loud! In this contest, avoiding the big blunder is paramount; two on the same leg was too much for anyone to overcome. I was actually kinda sad to see them go, because they seemed to have a rivalry building with Paul Alessi and Amie Barsky, and it’d have been fun to see these four people rip each other apart. Well, more fun than listening to Lenny and Karen, which is really getting irritating.

everyone - Since Team Weird Nickname (Joe Baldasarre and Bill Bartek) didn’t succeed, I think the rulesmakers just said “no harm, no foul”. They did get hit with a penalty for getting off the train early.

Personally, I find their antics more dumb than anything, and it’s plainly obvious that they were just making up all that garbage about Kevin Feinberg’s escalating violence or whatever. Honestly, they look like they’re just having a good time and playing to the camera. The trick, of course, is to not antagonize everyone else in the process so they team up to stop you.
