Tony Robbins: COVID-19 Denier

Another phony baloney self help fraud, now telling his idiotic followers COVID-19 is something that can be “overcome” with his film flam mind tricks:

Tony Robbins Talks About Coronavirus, How To Adjust Your Mindset In Place of Fear |Success Resources - YouTube

I got a great belly laugh hearing him advise, “Don’t let people take control of your minds”. Like he’s been trying to do for forty years.

Also, telling people to be cautious about the media because, “it’s a business”. Robbins, of course, has taken vows of poverty.

They stopped Jim Bakker from fleecing the rubes with his snake oil (silver, was it?) But I suppose they can’t stop Tony Robbins from selling “mind control,” given that it doesn’t come in a bottle.

Con-men gonna con.

Extra-tall man, big teeth? My mom got me a book by him, decades ago.

I said thanks and it’s still at the bottom of my TBR pile, along with the Dr. Phil books.

You actually kept them? They’d be my first to add to my TBD (To Be Donated) pile.

I was always somewhat daunted by the prominent jaw-line.

I can only motivate myself with the strongest of hopes that the protruding chin hasn’t been a steroid thing.

As I recall, I was still at home then and Mom could see my library. I haven’t thought about them in years, despite moving many times.

I did skim one of the Dr. Phils, and as I recall, he did have a few pithy things to say and like many a blind chicken picked up the occasional piece of corn. I never did start on the Robbins shit. As I learned years later, I’m neural atypical, and think yourself healthy ain’t going to work for me.

I don’t say this to impress you, but to impress UPON you…

Just don’t ask him to sign it!

I read one of his books and listened to his tapes in the early 90s when I was out of college and on the balls of my ass career wise, and found his stuff inspirational. But as I grew up and started getting my career more on track, I quickly realized his teachings had nothing to do with it, and was mostly bullshit. Then the stories about the firewalk injuries, then the creepy stories, and now these stupid and irresponsible comments about COVID-19 convince me he is not just a well meaning but misguided guy, or a harmless con man, but he’s a rotten human being

wow, harsh crowd. Why is Tony a bad guy? I don’t get it.
I’ve listened to tons of his seminars but never spent a dime on him. He hasn’t conned me into paying him a penny.
I got it all for free online and even if I don’t agree with everything he says, for the most part, he’s been very true throughout most his life.
I don’t know about the last few years as I haven’t followed him, but he’s been at this for 40+ years now? He’s obviously not a scam artist. You can’t
impact that many people and get away with it if it was fake. He’s obviously done a lot of right and good things. Is he perfect? Most certainly not.
Does he make mistakes? All the time.

I could understand if you spent thousands of dollars on his books, tapes, live shows, etc, but if you haven’t spent a dime on him, how has he conned you?
Nobody forced you to listen to his seminars or read his books. Take it for what it is. Glean the golden nuggets and throw away the rest. It may be for
some people and it may not be for others.

Why must everyone be called a con artist just because you don’t like him or you disagree with his teachings? In that case, I think EVERYTHING in this world is
a con, a con artist…just some are able to convince you now, but later on you’ll be like the same way…'ohhh when I got wiser I realized it was all just horse poop!"

Aha! I think I’m starting to see a pattern in cornflakes2’s posts!

Random fact - growing up, Robbins suffered from Acromegaly, a pituitary gland disorder. Other people with this condition include Richard Kiel, Carel Struycken and Andre the Giant.

He is just a troll and has been reported for trolling at least twice in the Kim thread, to no avail. I just Ignore trolls, so please don’t quote him, then I won’t have to read it.

Piss?

Somewhere out there, there is a librarian who has more than once opened the book-drop box, saw Tony Robbins books dumped in there with the regular returns, and shook his/her fist at the sky, exclaiming, “Damn You , Tony Robbins…! Damn You to Heeeeelll…!”

The only thing I really know about Tony Robbins is he had a cool cameo in the film Shallow Hal (2001). I’ve not paid attention to him otherwise but am always suspicious of self-help gurus.

" to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee."

I would *never *do that to a librarian!

Much as I hate to say it (because I love books and have an extensive collection and will share pictures of it at the drop of a hat), the next time I find the books they’ll probably get trashed. They’re not just not worth donating, they’re not worth using as toilet paper.

Ah, had no idea. Wouldn’t have posted if I had. (Back in the day - actor Rondo Hatton, too)
