Too bad Sanders is jewish

Bernie Sanders have a Jewish background and consider him selves to be jewish.

I guess that under his rule (if he’s elected), USA will follow the same line towards Israel as under Clinton and Bush/Cheney.

What are his policy about this issue?

Or, you know, a confessed socialist could disagree with how an ultra conservative has been handling the nation his faith supports.

That’s possible, right? Or do they all think alike?

What is exactly your debate, beyond this all encompassing “Jewish issue”? Any specific detail about a multifaceted, complex situation you’d like to talk about in particular?

Not to mention the fact that the people he listed are not even Jewish…

Forget everything else: him selves? What the fuck–you do realize that the singular isn’t Bernie Sander?

I think that those who support him have the right to know this. Because most of them are liberal and have a far more radical stance towards Israel than the establishment have.

Bernie Sanders is JEWISH! WHAT!

The right to know what?

Sanders is Jewish? Not a secret and no more relevant than Kennedy’s Catholicism was (people, feared he’d be a pawn of the Vatican).

That he might have an opinion on Israel? Hopefully he does.

Might be different than Obama, ok… I’m sure it’ll come out in the debates.

What exactly is your point?

Did you try looking for what he has said on the issue instead of making assumptions?

“Palestinians are entitled to a state of their own,” said Sanders, “and the United States should do what it can to make sure that state has a strong economy. Israel is entitled to live in security, not be attacked.”

“A cynic might ask if Sanders has honed his patter since then. The truth is that he’s been saying some of the same things for decades.”

Well, they say he doesn’t vote the way he talks when it comes to this issue.

I think the point is it is scary that a Jewish man could have an outside shot at getting elected president.

It’s a shame there isn’t some website where we could hear what his stance was on these issues…

Oh… right.

There’s more there, but that’s the gist.

Next thing their going to tell us he’s from New York and not VT. Even with that quintessential VT accent!!!

Why?

Who are “they?”

‘They tell me Bernie Sanders can’t win because America won’t vote for a socialist Jew. I tell them America celebrates a socialist Jew every December 25th.’

Does that mean his campaign slogan will be “and a matzoh ball in every pot”?

And I tell them they know nothing of cognitive dissonance.

Rated +2 by The Arab-American Institute, indicating pro-Arab pro-Palestine voting record. Bernie Sanders on Foreign Policy

He was also the first senator to boycott Netanyahu’s speech.

“Basically, he’s further left than most mainstream American politicians on Israel (although the White House itself was quite outraged by the U.N. shelling incident) — but he’s not willing to overlook the safety concerns of the Israeli government or citizenry.” From Bernie Sanders’ Stance On Israel Has Caused Some Tension For Him In The Past

My quick impression, after researching just now, is that he sees Israel as an ally that should be supported, but is not afraid to criticize them, either.

I have no idea. I was making a guess based on the OP.

Who is “they”? Do you have any citations?
