Last year I weighed around 250lb and I went to six flags. I was really embarrassed to find out the seatbelt would not fit me on some rides (and surprised this would happen in the US).
Now I weigh around 177 lb but my stomach is now around 38.5 inches in circumference. I want to go to Cedar Point but I am not sure I will be able to use all the rides yet?
By the way, what amusement parks would you recommend in the midwest for the best adrenalin rides?
I doubt that anything at Cedar Point would be a problem for you. My brother-in-law is much bigger than you, and he was still able to ride almost everything. Worst-case scenario, they have sample seats out in front of most of the popular rides, so you can find out if you won’t be able to ride before you go through a two-hour line.
EDIT: And for the best ride, my recommendation is the Beast, at King’s Island (Cincinnati). I was literally shaking for five minutes after the first time I rode that.
OP, how tall are you? I’m 5’11 and weighed 250 several years ago, and never had any issue on rides, including 6 Flags, Disney, & Universal. It’s more a matter of waist & hip size than overall weight in general. You will certainly be fine now though.
And the reason it happens “in the US” is that it’s extremely difficult to engineer a restraint system that will safely hold both a 5’4" 110 lb. and a 5’4" 250 lb person on a high speed, high acceleration ride. So design choices have to be made. Some newer rides (Forbidden Journey at Universal comes to mind) have modified seats on some of the vehicles for larger riders.
My sons and I LOVE The Beast. We’ve ridden it more times than we can count, it never seems to get old. Such a sprawling, fun coaster. Riding it at night in October is the best, though. Riding that thing in almost pitch blackness is SCARY!
We used to go to Cedar Point every year, but it’s been maybe 5 years since I’ve been there. I’m 6’5" and 235 lbs, 36" waist, and could go on every coaster they had.
I didn’t do the round&round rides, those made me too dizzy, so no experience with those.
Plenty of fun coasters at Cedar Point. I’ve also been to King Island and also put in a strong vote for The Beast!
