If that’s your idea of fun (it’s certainly mine!), then you’ll be able to do exactly that at Cedar Point, Ohio, this summer when they unveil Top Thrill Dragster, which will be the first roller coaster in the world to reach a height of 420 feet and the first to reach a speed of 120 MPH.
As a native northwest Ohioan, I would recommend against it. You’d have great fun for a day or two at Cedar Point (which really is the best amusement park in the world – not that I’m biased or anything ), but there’s really nothing else of interest in the area, unless you want to boat on Lake Bacteria… er Erie, or drive an hour and a half to Cleveland.
YES YES YES CERTAINLY OF COURSE and ABSOLUTELY. Roller coasters are my passion more than anything else in the world. I have ridden every roller coaster at Cedar Point there is to ride. I live for the thrill. I know my way around the park like the back of my hand. I only live 2 hours away, in eastern OH. I want to go!!!
I rarely get to go- how could I be born unto parents that HATE amusement parks???
I’d wet my pants for sure. Last labor day my husband’s family and I stayed at the resort for the weekend. That meant we could get into the park early to get a crack at the good coasters. I about died on their most recent one, whose name escapes me. It was fabulous; I can’t imagine what the newest one will be like.
Cedar Point’s newest currently operating coaster is the Millennium Force. It is 310 feet tall, and the first hill is so steep that going over the top, you can’t see the track beneath you. It is exquisite.
Hmm, scratch that. It seems that the Wicked Twister is newer. I haven’t been home in awhile, so I haven’t had the opportunity to ride this one… Looks like a good summer trip.
