Unfortunately, Cecil didn’t address the question. Yes, most toothpastes contain sugar. But there are many that don’t.
Once you start using an unsweetened paste, it’s hard to swtich back to the cake icing that most toothpastes are.
Tom’s of Maine, for example, lists ingredients on the website. Most of their toothpastes don’t contain sugar, and they go so far as to assure you that “other natural flavors” doesn’t mean sugar.
Tooth powders are another option, but it’s hard not to cough.
