Subtitled: Bush Week - Part 2, You can never have too much.

Please Note: The server backup missed this thread…if you posted to the thread prior to the crash, please vote again.

First: The Who’s, What’s, Where’s & Why’s of the Supplemental Poll

In an attempt to squeeze as many bands in the shortest amount of time possible, The Monday 6 @ 6 Poll, is once again featuring a supplemental poll. A while back, in Week #15, Dragon Phoenix requested we run a “Kate Bush 6@6 Poll” in The Café Society…Here it is. This supplemental poll, like the regularly scheduled ** Bush** thread will be closed and tallied 7 days from today, Monday September 23, 2002 at 6PM EDT. Results from both polls will be posted a few minutes later on that same day in Week #24’s regularly scheduled Byrds 6 @ 6 Poll.

Second: The Poll & How it Works

It’s simple enough, post your 6 favorite songs by the artist. Personal observations, opinions, liner notes, comments and the like are always welcome but are in no means required.

Third: The Supplemental Poll Artist’s Discography (Reader’s Digest Version)

If your memory of the featured artist isn’t exactly up to speed, here’s a link to the discography with 30 second cuts of some of their tracks when you drill down through the albums: Red Shoes Sensual World The Whole Story Hounds Of Love Dreaming Never Forever Lionheart Kick Inside

Lastly: The Supplemental Poll Artist of the Week

Without further ado, the artist as: Kate Bush.

Here are my 6 KATE BUSH picks:

  1. The Sensual World
  2. Wuthering Heights Please don’t let this be true: This song is 24 years old!
  3. Hounds Of Love
  4. Cloudbusting Has anyone heard what Utah Saints did with this song on sped-up/sampled Something Good? If you haven’t it’s amazing
  5. Experiment 4
  6. Running Up That Hill Special thanks to the editor of The Secret Policeman’s Ball for turning me on to her music

So tell us…What are your 6 favorite tracks by Jackson Browne?

Thanking you all in advance. Have a great week.

THIS WOMAN’S WORK
THE SENSUAL WORLD
THE FOG
WUTHERING HEIGHTS
CLOUDBUSTING
MAN WITH THE CHILD IN HIS EYES

  1. Sensual World
  2. Babooshka
  3. Running Up that Hill
  4. Man with the Child in His Eyes
  5. Wuthering Heights

and…it’s in the trees! It’s coming!

  1. Hounds of Love
  1. Running Up That Hill
  2. Don’t Give Up (Duet with Peter Gabriel) A beautiful song.

Thats all I’m voting for here.
Dave.

In chronological order…

  1. James and the Cold Gun (live)
  2. Hammer Horror
  3. Kashka from Baghdad
  4. Breathing
  5. Get Out of my House
  6. Big Sky

I’d love to have dinner with her, chat her up, find out more about her divinely crazy muse.

I am saving the duet with Peter Gabriel until you reach the G.

Kate Bush and Tori Amos are my favourite all-time female artists. The album Hounds of love is IMHO one of the ten best albums of all time.

Limiting it to 6 (regretfully):

  1. Army dreamers
  2. Running up that hill
  3. Mother stands for comfort
  4. Cloudbusting
  5. The ninth wave (this really is one big composition)
  6. The man with the child in his eyes

I had explanations in my original post to this thread, but it got eaten. Anyway, in no particular order:

The Kick Inside
The Dreaming
Hounds of Love
Jig of Life
December Will Be Magic Again
Never Be Mine

If you’d made it the top seven I would have listed all the tracks in The Ninth Wave, which is much more than the sum of its parts.
