Have you eaten in the past 24 hours, mulax?
… yes?
Then I posit you are as well, packed full of it. More than me. The Rich eat well.

OK, wmulax93, when you suspect someone of trolling or inventing sources, the proper response is to hit the REPORT button (li’l ! in red triangle in upper right corner of post) and let a moderator handle it. Calling someone a “moron” in this forum is a violation of board Rules and Forum Rules, as of course you know. Please don’t do this again.
devilsknew, your contention that only beautiful people win (or are selected) for reality shows is a matter for a different thread. Please drop this conversation now and, if you’d like, start such a thread. If you open such a thread in Cafe Society, be prepared to provide back-up evidence or cites, or face the accusation (by me) of trolling. If you don’t want to bring evidence or verification, then probably you’re best off opening the thread in IMHO.
No, I don’t agree. I haven’t seen anyone that I consider beautiful on Top Chef yet. Some okay looking women, but no knockouts.
SWMBO and I watch TC because reality shows, as a rule, are crap. TC is a true contest of skill, however, and it is interesting to watch because of that reason. Very few reality shows can say that. Yes, they have to jazz it up and have at least one person that’s a jerk, and after the tryouts, they have to have one clown that gets the joy of being kicked off the first show, but let’s face it - those people are chefs and damn good ones, and the winner of the title really can display it with pride.
Last night I watched the reunion show. Lisa looked much more relaxed, but didn’t try to dispute the fact that she didn’t come across well, and she didn’t blame it on the editing. Her only excuse is that she’s “very serious” about food. Oh, and she says that she can take criticism about her food in a normal setting. Yeah, right.
Stephanie won the Fan Favorite, so she got another $10K plus some other goodies on top of her prizes as Top Chef.
Richard wasn’t there, as his wife was due to pop at any moment. THe show sent him a Top Chef onesie, with the knife replaced by a silver spoon.
StG
How about this season’s official T-shirt?
I’m not surprised that Steph also won fan favorite.
I missed the reunion show but I can only watch at work and I was out sick. I hope I can catch a rerun but I have never seen them rerun the reunion shows.
They are, if my TV listings are right! I scheduled my system to record one for tomorrow at around 10 am.
I saw this and immediately felt badly for the motorcycle looking dude and the Black chick. I don’t remember them at all. Their participation was limited to one liners. I guess you’re contractually obligated to show up when you agree to be on the show, but how weird is that when 90 percent of the show is about the final six or so contestants?
I thought Richard would be voted fan favorite. Or even Andrew… that guy is really quite funny. I would watch a show with him as host. Stephanie is a great chef and seems pretty nice; I’m just surprised she was the winner.
devilsknew, you’ll be pleased to know that there was an entire segment about Lisa and her bitchface. Her one opportunity for redemption would have been saying, “Wow, I was a jerk a lot of times on the show,” but as StG notes, she just shrugged it off. She also noted that at a “lesbian party” (???) the attendees were afraid to approach her.
Regrettably the fauxhawk lives on atop the heads of Richard and Jennifer. It’s no longer edgy, kids. Speaking of Jennifer, there was an incredibly awkward moment when the host asked her about her relationship with Zoi. They also played one of the most surreal clips from the show, the one where Jennifer claps like an orangutan and somehow Dale blows up on Lisa.
I loved seeing Andrew call out Lisa for selling him out at judges’ table when he was eliminated. Hearing her say “I’m not going to say anything else. I’m afraid I’ll get punched” reminded me of why I hated her on this show so much.
Pretty good show overall, I’d say.
I thought this was the funnest reunion episode. Even Lisa seemed to be in good spirits. And Andrew made Gail blush which was hilarious. They also showed some behind the scenes stuff in the stew room that I found interesting.
Is it a coincidence that Stephanie won the cash, or am I just spitting into the wind?
The reunion left me feeling much better about the show, I should have learned by now that the editors composite is much different than the reality, but the show just riles me up. I guess it’s brecause I’m passionate about food and chefs.
Still, this doesn’t convince me that Lisa is somehow a bad person. What was she to do, loose integrity in the face of criticism? I’ve worked with much worse. She’s a competitor and the fact that she took second is testament to that fact. I’m not like that but I can understand why she was.
You can bet I’m getting the t-shirt. Andrew rocks.
I feel worse for Erik. What did he get, like 5 seconds of dialogue? Did Nimma get any at all?
Yeah, she made a joke about thinking that she would be the fan favorite.
re: “Lesbian Party”: that threw us too. I didn’t know there were parties based on sexuality. Personally, I’ve never been invited to a straight party. What a strange way to describe an event!
