Top five electronic albums of 2011 and 2012

This is sort of an oddly specific question, but what were your five favorite electronic albums for 2011 and 2012?

  1. Com Truise - Galactic Melt
  2. M83 - Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming
  3. Dam Mantle - First Wave
  4. Bullion - You Drive Me to Plastic
  5. Javelin - Canyon Candy

  1. Dan Deacon - America
  2. Actress - R.I.P
  3. Geoff Barrow / Ben Salisbury - DROKK
  4. Suzanne Ciani - Lixiviation
  5. Jam City - Classical Curves

I know none of these artists. Get off my lawn?

I haven’t either, but the only electronic album I got from 2012 or 2011 is Half Measures by the Prize Fighter Inferno, which no one has probably heard of either unless I told them that it is a side project from Claudio Sanchez of Coheed and Cambria. I haven’t listened to it enough to know if it was good or not, but I think I prefer their first album, My Brother’s Blood Machine. Good mixture of low fi electronic music along with the type of acoustic music electronic artists tend to do  except it is in Claudio Sanchez’s voice so it is still pretty good.

Mostly I have a bunch of single tracks or compilation albums, But here are a few full albums I downloaded:

Cut Copy - Zonoscope
Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles (II)
deadmau5 - > Album Title Goes Here <
Digitalism - I Love You, Dude
Moby - Destroyed
Nero - Welcome Reality
Paul Oakenfold - Never Mind The Bollocks…Here’s Paul Oakenfold
Paul Van Dyk - A State of Trance 2012
Swedish House Mafia - Until Now

Well, I’m hardly qualified to discuss top five, but I surely did enjoy Motion Sickness of Time Travel.

For '11 I would add Tycho - Dive and Symmetry - Themes…
