Top Gun (1986): Locking On & War

I’ve read a couple of books about the NSA including “The Puzzle Palace” and “Code Warriors”. These books talk about some of the declassified missions the NSA and nascent CIA took part in during the cold war to gather signals intelligence. Some of these missions included flying extremely close to enemy territory to read their radar signals. In other cases they’d fly directly towards enemy territories in an aggressive way to purposely trigger a response that could be recorded and analyzed. More than once people died so we paid a price.
