Commando. Given a choice between Ahnold kicking ass or a smug, smirking Tom Cruise interspersed with the same like 2 shots of F-14s whizzing around, I’m taking Ahnold every single time. Seriously, they literally re-use the same footage like a dozen times throughout the movie. Weak.
Yeah but the opening scene on the carrier deck, with the Faltermeyer music, is way cool.
ETA: Not just Faltermeyer, but also the transition to Kenny Loggins. Way cool.

True. “Danger Zone” is one of the great 80s songs which tried to be cool, then became almost 80s style lame, but remained awesome somehow. Also in that category: “You’re the Best” (“Around! Nummanummaneeneenow!”).
But without Top Gun we don’t get Hot Shots and the even better Hot Shots Part Deux.
It’s even worse (or better depending on your point of view) than Mad Max.
I hadn’t even thought of that, so my appreciation for the Top Gun has just skyrocketed.
