Top Republicans snub Morgan State: Big deal or tempest in a tea pot?

Oh, and finally, when you take out all the minors who can’t vote, the poor who wouldn’t vote Republican, you’re still left with a group of people who as a whole probably aren’t very likely to vote Republican in any case.

Minors do vote eventually, and in the not-so-distant future. Who they vote for when they can is shaped by their experiences as they become aware of the world and their place in it. Dismissing people who are therefore likely to vote against you as soon as next year, and for the rest of their lives, is not a good practice. Offending their parents, and other people’s parents who can envision themselves in the same circumstances, and those who simply wish for some justice in society, and can vote against you right now, is not a good practice, either.

Well, first, not having health insurance is not the same as not getting health care. We already have Medicaid for the people who, for whatever reason, can’t take care of themselves. Those folks get their appendix out whether they can afford it or not. The difference in universal health care is the length of time between getting diagnosed and then treatment. Which is what I addressed.

As it stands now, only the wealthy can afford to leave countries with universal health care to seek treatment elsewhere. The tax that is withheld for health care will not be available for private insurance to those who need treatment in a timely manner.
