Topps American NFL Football picture cards collectors’ box…
Anyone collect these, or have any knowledge or interest in them? I just found an (almost) full set of them that I collected (back when I was 11 or 12) in what was probably the only year that NFL was really widely followed in the UK (at least by our TV channels) - 1987. As an aside - I was an LA Raiders fan back them, mostly because I liked the badge. I knew next to nothing about the nuances of the sport, but liked to follow it anyhow.
I’ve googled it a bit and it seems that some of the 1987 cards have a small value, notably Jim Kelly, Doug Flutie, Randall Cunningham, Hershal Walker (all in rookie season), and Jerry Rice. None of those names, bar Jerry Rice, mean anything to me, but the likes of Dan Marino, Marcus Allen, Joe Montana, John Elway and Walter Payton are the guys I mostly remember from that era.
Anyhow, was just wondering if anyone on here collected cards from this year? And, as I have no particular interest in keeping hold of them any more, if anyone has any ideas of what’s best to do with them (without going to any special effort, such as Ebay) and considering that they are in the UK so hardly worth posting out to anyone in the US either. (Although, if anyone wants them…?)
