sigh I reeeeealy didn’t want to be the one to explain this. “Tossing the salad” is what you have just described, except with a jelly or a syrup. Hence, “salad”. There, I said it. I feel much better now. 
Take a listen to the Chris Rock album I mentioned. He has a great stand-up bit on it.
Well guys, I still haven’t heard much about my question though… Come on, this is one of the most opinionated (sp?) MB I have ever been too, and all you guys can talk about is how surprized you are.
