All due respect to those who did enjoy this…
I was very interested in seeing it. Having now seen it may I say that I have not encountered such a hot, steaming pile of crap in quite a long time. Holy mother of god I cannot believe how stunningly awful it was. Just…wow. Wow.
Ah, I see. I obviously wasn’t paying enough attention. 
The kid as he’s portrayed and the kid doing the voiceover seem to be two totally different people. The former is all but cut off from the world around him, barely able to communicate; the latter seems very articulate and, at best, mildly quirky. You can’t have it both ways. I don’t think I’ll be keeping up with this show.
io9 panned it, but I quite enjoyed it, despite not being a huge Jack Bauer fan. I like the way the various threads came together, and that it had an international scope. In particular, io9 seemed to be annoyed by the new agey quantum bullshit, but it’s a fantasy series and that’s the conceit - its no more offensive to me than any other fictional fantasy premise.
OTOH I’m not sure how it will work as a series. In the pilot, the kid basically comes off as omniscient, with everyone else being mere pawns. It doesn’t seem like anyone else has a real contribution. I look forward to seeing how they deal with that.
When the mute kid does voiceovers was anyone else thinking they should have had an old English woman do it like they did for Becky on Glee?
