Town for Sale

It’s in South Dakota. They should be paying people to take the town.

Or you can hop over to Idaho and buy a ski mountain for $149,000.

*Technically the $149,000 is for the equipment and right to operate a ski area on the property within the Sawtooth National Forest.

Wow, I wasnt aware of that one. And the article says there are 41? Wow. Thanks for chiming in. I’d like to ask how you heard of it?

Thing is its hard to get such information from anywhere in the state. I’ve even emailed and the top state people were not exactly sure.

The article says the school has 5 kids in it. The one near Lemmon had just 8 and they closed it. Well actually the school had 3 rooms but was down to using only one. The kids are bussed 45 miles to Lemmon now.

Ahh. You Californians.

The article says there are 45 remaining. I don’t know what ‘it’ you are referring to but I Googled the school thing. I live in South Dakota so the town sale things have been in the newspapers.

They couldn’t pay me enough to live in California.

No, that would be Swett.

Heck, if I owned my own town, I’d want to be its Goddess, not its Mayor. But then, I’m not entirely sure if the Goddess of Swett is necessarily a title I’d be comfortable with. I’ll wait for the next town sale.

“Sweaty girls are the best kind” I always say. That line is best delivered with a big leering grin. So you’re off to a good start at least with me if no one else.

Bummer. I figured I could rename the place “Old Sarum, South Dakota”.

Maybe rename it Mordor and build a replica volcano that people can come by and throw jewelry into?

No but seriously to those who dont know South Dakota, Wall South Dakota, the town they mention is 40 miles south, is famous for Wall Drug. A BIG tourist stop along interstate 90. I-90 gets VERY crowded in the summer due to to all the tourists going thru and connects you to Mr. Rushmore, Yellowstone, the northern rockies, and runs all the way from Milwaukee to Seattle. In August they have the big motorcycle rally in Sturgis and you see miles of motorcycles on I90.

So while your driving on I90 in near bumper to bumper traffic you see on the roadside nothing but empty prairie.
