Recently there has been a Toyota commercial with Patrick Warburton. He says that sex sells, and sex sells beer but not cars. He gives a little spiel about the car, then he says something like “And now for the sex.” He then gives the car a little spank.
But after a while, it changed. Instead of the spank he does a sexy little leg thing.
But now it’s not even that. Now it’s a screen showing various financing options.
I have to wonder – was the original version pulled due to people being offended?
So censorship doesn’t seem to be the issue, but rather Honda trying to cater to viewers’ attention and preferences. Or rather, trying to stir attention by having an online interactive component that manifests in ads being shown. Some way to make viewers feel more involved.
