Track Width of 4X4 Vehicles

I’m not having much luck finding this on my own, but I’m trying to figure out if any of the AMC produced Jeeps had a track width of roughly 62 inches. Anyone know?

Is this just some trivia, or are you looking to build a killer jeep?

If you’re just looking to build a jeep, ignore the factory track width and go with some Dana axles.

If not, I’m clueless

IIRC he owns an old CJ

IIRC, all Jeeps use Dana front ends. I’m hoping that I can shoehorn one in the front end of my Chrysler without too much trouble, which is why I’m concerned about the track width.

I’m just replying because no one else has (not actually knowing anything about Jeeps)… Have you checked this page? It seems to list the axle specifications for several AMC Jeeps; not sure which one you’re interested in.

Tuckerfan: Measured from the outsides of the tires, my '76 CJ-7 has a track width of 62".

Well, that helps a little, but doesn’t give any data on the Cherokees, which is most likely to have the right track width. The site which is linked to that which has Cherokee information, doesn’t say anything about the track width either.

How wide are your tires?

Great. Now my glasses are fogged up.

Tire width is 10 inches. Wheel width is ~9 inches.

And I misspoke earlier: it’s 62" from the outsides of the rims.
