Trading Spaces 9/27: Am I doing the TS threads now?

I was just repeating what I heard on the TWoP site. I know we saw Doug flipping a switch and turning on the FP, but supposedly something was blocked by the facade. Everyone I know has a “real” fireplace, so I have no idea how a gas fireplace works. Is there more than just a switch to turn it on?

And I agree, that pink brick was six kinds of fugly. Blecchh.
I prefer good old-fashioned red brick any day.

Yeah, I know it was on the protected list-what would happen if he went and did it anyway? Is there some kind of punishment?
And yeah, the pink brick was kind of ugly, but brick is a pain the ass to paint and maintain, from what I understand.

I like shabby chic myself-old fashioned Victorian looking-mismatched couches, old sewing tables, Art Nouveau prints, etc.

Oh, and Doug doesn’t do barns? What about that kid’s playroom he did-with the ceiling beams? It looked very country-and it was really adorable! (That was the episode where Hildi wanted to paint the carpet)

LOL, exactly! You CAN have nice country, or…you can have FRANK country.

Re: Rick’s room… I thought painting the candlesticks was the least bizarre thing he did. Those were obviously cheapo IKEA-type candlesticks you buy in a package of 6 or something.
