This is the opening sequence to the game- there was also a gameplay trailer as seen here. I’m only a casual fan of the Fabs, but I think this looks awesome. Beatlemania is back!
Wow!
Double wow!
I can’t wait! The graphics and the like are great, but it was really neat seeing the feature of being able to do vocal harmonies.
Yeah, the harmony feature looks really interesting.
That. Is BLOWING MY MIND.
When I first saw the trailer, my first reaction was “I CANNOT CONTAIN THE HAPPINESS INSIDE OF ME!” On subsequent viewings, my enthusiasm has not dampened. I can’t freaking wait for 9/9/09.
Our son, JP, who’s learning to play bass, before seeing the trailer: “Why would I want to play a game with fake instruments?”
JP after seeing the trailer: “I get to be Paul.”
Og fucking dammit. Now I have to buy an X-Box…
But they’re pretty nice fake instruments…
I love the artwork.
I haven’t listened much to the Beatles. Is the drumming on most of their work that boring?
In several interviews, everybody from Ringo himself to George Martin said that Ringo’s real job was to hold down the beat so the band could keep it all together in loud clubs/theaters/venues/stadiums when they couldn’t really hear themselves play (due to very, very loud fans and very, very horrible sound systems). It got to the point where they could literally stop playing on the stage, and nobody would notice or care (and the screaming covered a multitude sins). Now, having said that, I have no idea if Ringo’s drumming style changed after they stopped touring (so everything from Revolver on) because I barely notice the drumming anyway.
It’s going to be released on PS3 and Wii as well, if that makes the decision any easier/harder.
E3 presentation featuring live gameplay:
I Want To Hold Your Hand at Sullivan
I Saw Her Standing There at Cavern Club, Octopus’s Garden in fantasy seascape
Game is available as standalone or in bundle with microphone, Paul’s Hofner bass and Ringo’s Ludwig drums. John’s Rickenbacker and George’s Gretsch sold seperately.
WANT.
OK, goals for this summer: 1) Start growing out a mop top.

Ringo’s a fantastic, creative drummer. I don’t agree that the songs in the trailer feature boring drumming, but I have also heard the whole songs, not just 10-second clips.
You should check out Tomorrow Never Knows, She Said She Said, Helter Skelter, A Day in the Life, or Strawberry Fields Forever. I could go on… To be honest, the biggest reason I’m buying this game is so that I can play as Ringo. He’s great! He’s underrated by most people, but generally appreciated by drummers and other musicians.
The cinematic opening is fantastic.
Can’t wait til the release. This game will kick ass.
Ringo’s drumming, IMO, is very tasteful and musical.
Let us never forget Rain
